Biomimetic Dentistry: The Future of Dentistry
Biomimetic dentistry is an emerging field that aims to preserve tooth structure and "mimic nature".
Teeth are awesome. Look at all that detail that is jam packed in that little space! Nature has allowed us to walk around with little tiny masterpieces in our mouthes. We have a famous Picasso piece that we get to call our own. The more you discover about how intricate teeth are, the more you can appreciate what beauty they actually have.
The concepts of Biomimetics are emerging and taking over the field of dentistry. The idea of preserving teeth rather than destroying them is beginning to be a known concept. However, biomimetics isn't only about teeth preservation. It's about grasping the concepts of how a tooth can function while preserving the natural beauty that it holds. "Mimicking nature" is the goal for a biomimetic dentist. This is what we are aiming for with this study club, to get closer in replicating the perfection that nature gave us. This club will help you understand the complexities of teeth as well as how to apply these ideas in your practice.
Being taught by Pascal Magne is a special experience. His passion is contagious. He motivates you to care about things you didn't know you cared about. The goal of The Biomimetic Study Club is to convey that same passion. We strive to have the best detailed pictures, updated and current research articles, along with building a network of likeminded dentists. The concepts that are listed on the site provide the basis of the understanding of what truly is biomimetics. This study club was designed to be an interdisciplinary collaboration where biomimetic principles and ideas are discussed freely and openly and that we can learn together. By doing so, we can further see the beauty of biomimetics. Join the revolution and share your passion with others!
